A piece of Bad Orb’s history has been carefully brought back to life<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The historic zigzag path in ALEA PARK was opened on Tuesday. A key focus of the redesign was staying true to the historic model: the distinctive zigzag path from the 1960s was restored, including the original laying pattern of the natural stones. The natural stones themselves were replicated to be identical to the historical model in terms of both grain size and material. The park lighting was also meticulously recreated. The bench areas take into account the original locations and will be equipped with all-season benches. <\/p>\n\n

Under a clear blue sky, numerous neighbors, spa guests, day-trippers, and kindergarten children gathered for the grand opening of the historic Zigzag Path. The restoration of this iconic park feature marks a special moment for Bad Orb: \u201cWe at ALEA PARK are filled with joy and gratitude to be able to give back a piece of their history to the citizens of Bad Orb, the town, and the spa community through the Zigzag path,\u201d said an ALEA spokesperson at the opening. <\/p>\n\n


In close consultation with nature conservation and historic preservation authorities, the path was reconstructed stone by stone based on the original design – from the grain of the natural stones to the materials used. The park lighting and bench areas were also painstakingly recreated to be historically accurate. \u201cThe ALEA PARK complex as a whole is a place of recreation – park visitors should be able to recharge their batteries. It is in this spirit that we have restored the park\u2019s central elements,\u201d emphasized ALEA initiator Henning Strauss. <\/p>\n\n


In addition, ALEA PARK will be fully accessible in the future: the new pathways will provide convenient access for all visitors – whether families with strollers or seniors. The park is thus a place for people to come together; it is inclusive and designed for all generations. <\/p>\n\n


Bad Orb\u2019s mayor, Tobias Weisbecker, was particularly pleased at the opening:
\u201cWe have carefully brought a piece of history into the modern era – something we can all be proud of. The Zigzag path is part of our identity and firmly rooted in our spa park.\u201d He expressed special thanks for the trusting collaboration with park sponsor Henning Strauss. <\/p>\n\n
